Some of us probably don’t check the status of our roof in months. However, there are obvious signs of damage to take note of, when it’s time to get a roof restoration. These are clues which mean you must pay attention and do something before it’s too late.
1. Curling Shingles
Shingles can curl because of two reasons: One is cupping, which occurs when the edges of the shingles turn upward; and there’s clawing, which is when the edges stay flat and the middle starts to come up. Potential leaks can happen if you don’t pay attention to this sign. Water can easily enter the breakage of the material until you see the fading paint in the ceiling. This is alarming as moisture attracts bacteria and moulds.
2. Presence of Moss or Algae
There’s no reason to panic when you see the green particles on the roof. Some people just find this unattractive, making their home look like a mess. You can just get a pressure cleaning service just to get rid of the moss or you can get roof restoration. The elastomeric coating is water-resistant and anti-moss so you don’t constantly worry about dirt and bacteria.
3. Sagging roof
If you’ve never been on the ridge, you can easily spot a structural problem when water starts to drip on the ceiling. A sagging roof can create a massive impact to the ceiling tiles. Advanced problems like drippy water and faded paint mean you should immediately call for help. Any time now, the ridge can collapse, damaging your home and hurting your family.
